Welcome to Love to Share Ministries Web site. This is the ministry of Wilbur Lingle.

I was a missionary to Japan engaged in church planting from 1954 until 1989. In 1975 I had four Mormon missionaries move into my area, and without ever meeting me they were going around the area and telling people that I was of the devil and they should not go to my church. Then they contacted me and wanted me to study with them and read the Book of Mormon. To this I agreed if they would promise to come at least ten weeks, and since I was busy I explained it would take me a couple of months to read The Book of Mormon. To this request I received a strong affirmative promise. However, after two times they refused to come back. I decided to read every book I could get my hands on concerning the Mormons in order to witness to these missionaries, but while the books provided good “facts” about the religion, they did not help in effective witnessing.

I read The Book of Mormon and realized it did not contain any real Mormon doctrines, but rather, just the opposite and was merely used as a “bridge” to get people into Mormonism.

After this time, I actively sought the Mormons out and had opportunities to witness to quite a number of them. After significant “trial and error,” I began to witness more effectively, and we even saw one make a personal decision to follow Christ!

Because I was not prepared to witness to the missionaries and could not find any books on the subject, I felt a burden to write a book. This is the reason behind Approaching Mormons in Love—How to Witness Effectively Without Arguing.

About a year later, the Jehovah’s Witnesses began evangelizing in the area where I had my church. I began witnessing to them using the standard method of arguing about the: John 1:1, the Trinity, immortality of the soul, hell fire, etc. but I made absolutely no progress for over ten years. But then in 1986, I was in the States on furlough and heard about a conference for ex-JW’s in the Pocono’s of PA. I went there with one purpose and that was to find out how they came to know Christ as their personal Saviour. Just about all told me that they questioned the Watchtower Society itself and because of the lack of real love among the people. Then I realized that my approach was wrong. I did some studying on mind control and changed my approach to the Watchtower Organization and found that I made a lot more progress and it was much less frustrating. I had spent hundreds of hours in reading and research and had spoken to many JW’s. I realized that most people could not spend this much time, so this is the reason I wrote my book Approaching Jehovah’s Witnesses in Love—How to Witness Effectively Without Arguing. This book has been a help to many people. It is now in its fourth edition.

When I left Japan as a missionary in 1989 I began “Love to Share Ministries” with the purpose of having seminars to train Christians how to witness to people in these two cults and also to make available additional helps for those who want to witness effectively.

In 2009 I have my third book What the Watchtower Society Doesn’t Want You to Know. It explains the inner workings of the Watchtower Society and is designed for people who are studying with the Witnesses and would like to know what they are getting into. Also for Jehovah’s Witnesses who are questioning their religion, of which there are many, and for Christians who would like to know what goes on behind the walls of the Kingdom Halls.

It was not until 2005 that I first got interested in Islam and witnessing to Muslims. I spent the next five years in reading about 75 books and booklets, plus material from a number of Web sites on Islam, and as a result wrote my fourth book Burning Questions About Islam—A Panoramic Study for Concerned Christians.

Along with my books, you will find a lot of articles with important additional helps in your witnessing especially to the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Any of the material can be downloaded free and shared with anyone you like.

If you would like to contact me personally, my e-mail address is: or you can call me at (732) 350-0735 from May through October and then from November through April (941) 751-6319. I would be more than glad to answer any questions you might have about witnessing to these three religious groups or help you with your witnessing.
